With just a few days to go until its big Diwali release, Thamma has officially opened for advance bookings — and if the early response is anything to go by, this spooky-yet-silly ride is already striking a chord with moviegoers.
The film, which brings together Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui on screen, has fans excited across the country.
From early morning today, tickets began selling fast across major cities, with a steady uptick reported in smaller towns too. Clearly, audiences are ready for a dose of horror, humour, and heart this festive season.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma is the latest addition to the beloved Maddock Horror Comedy Universe — the same banner behind hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.
This time around, the film promises a heady mix of laughs, thrills, and a bit of romance — all wrapped up in a story that feels fresh, yet familiar.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh shares the optimism: “Thamma has all the makings of a festive winner. The advance booking response is solid, and the buzz is translating into footfalls. With the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe brand and the Diwali advantage, this one’s positioned very strongly at the box office.”
Adding to the excitement, Ashish Saxena, COO - Cinemas at BookMyShow, noted the growing interest among cinemagoers: “The momentum for Thamma is picking up fast. Ticket sales began on a strong note, and we’re seeing steady traction across metros and tier-2 markets alike. Audiences are clearly looking forward to a big-screen entertainer this Diwali.”
Thamma is fast becoming one of the most anticipated releases of this season.
The timing couldn’t be better — families are stepping out, screens are packed with festive energy, and audiences are in the mood for fun.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thamma releases worldwide on 21st October, just in time to light up the Diwali weekend.
