Amrita Rao became a well-known name in the industry following the huge success of Vivah (2006). Her grace on screen, simplicity, and innocence won her admiration from the worldwide fans.
In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Amrita opened up about the unusual attention she received after Vivah's massive success.
The actress recalled, “After Vivah, I used to get NRI proposals with family photos, people standing next to their car and dog, saying ‘mujhse shaadi karlo’ (please marry me). And not just one or two… I got many! I used to laugh and wonder, ‘Kya log hain yeh!’ (What kind of people are they?).”
The actress also revealed that her fans even sent her blood-written letters. She said, “Some even wrote letters. Once, I received a letter written in blood, and that was very scary. There was this guy who would stand at the telephone booth outside my house, and my mom or dad would have to pick up the phone. It got a little much.”
However, Amrita married Anmol Sood on May 15, 2016, in a private ceremony in Mumbai after dating him for seven years. The couple welcomed their son, Veer, on November 1, 2020.
On the work front, Amrita Rao made a comeback to the big screen with Jolly LLB 3 following a hiatus. She was last seen in Thackeray (2019).
Amrita reprises her role as Sandhya, the wife of Arshad Warsi’s character from the original Jolly LLB (2013), in the third instalment of the franchise. Jolly LLB 3 also features Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles.
The latest instalment follows smart-alec Jolly Mishra and jugadu Jolly Tyagi as they clash in Judge Tripathi's court with witty banter, wild twists, and heartfelt chaos in this ultimate courtroom comedy.
