In a fresh controversy that has reignited old industry tensions, filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, brother of acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap, has levelled serious allegations against Salman Khan and his family.
The Dabangg director accused the Khans of “unfair treatment” and “controlling behaviour” during the making of the 2010 blockbuster. He alleged that he was denied creative freedom and not paid as promised.
Abhinav’s statements, made in multiple interviews, claimed that working with the Khan family became increasingly “toxic.”
He alleged that after the success of Dabangg, he was “systematically cornered” and not allowed to retain the film’s creative rights. The filmmaker also took personal jabs at Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora.

Ektaa Kapoor has shown support to Salman Khan amid this controversy. Bollywood paparazzo Varinder Chawla strongly condemned Abhinav’s remarks, calling them “completely disgusting.”
In a post that went viral, Varinder Chawla questioned the timing of the filmmaker’s outburst, noting that Dabangg released over 14 years ago.
“If there were genuine issues, why wait so long to speak up? This kind of behaviour feels opportunistic and completely unfair, using someone else’s reputation for personal gain.” he wrote.
Adding to this, Ektaa Kapoor shared Varinder Chawla’s post on Instagram Stories.
