Akshaye Khanna’s viral FA9LA entry in Dhurandhar was completely improvised; ‘He asked Aditya Dhar, 'Can I dance?’,' reveals Danish Pandor

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar is riding high on strong word-of-mouth since its December 5 release, but amid all the praise for its action and storytelling, one moment has become an online obsession — Akshaye Khanna’s explosive entry backed by the Bahraini rap track FA9LA.

Akshaye Khanna, who plays Rehman Dakait, a ruthless Pakistani crime lord and politician, has emerged as one of the film’s standout performers.

Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar continues to soar on the back of strong word-of-mouth after its December 5 premiere, and while the spy thriller is earning praise for its slick action and gripping narrative, one moment has unexpectedly taken over the internet — Akshaye Khanna’s electrifying entry set to the Bahraini rap track FA9LA.

Now, it has been revealed that the entire sequence, including Akshaye’s surprising dance moves, was fully improvised.

Akshaye Khanna, who plays Rehman Dakait, a ruthless Pakistani crime lord and politician, has emerged as one of the film’s standout performers. His entry scene, shared by the makers on X after fan demand, shows the actor stepping out of a car dressed in a sharp black suit, greeting onlookers with a calm ‘salam’, and taking in a traditional dance performance before joining in with a few unexpected steps of his own. Ranveer Singh also appears briefly in the frame as the moment unfolds.

The clip, which quickly went viral, was posted with the playful caption, “You made it viral! So now it is here, Sher-E-Baloch’s absolute ‘Bang-er’!"

Fans flooded the comments with admiration for both the actor and the scene. “Absolute banger. Amazingly choreographed and shot," wrote one user, while another praised Akshaye’s rare screen appearances, saying, “He comes once or twice a year, but what an actor. Does not stay in the limelight. Very, very underrated." Many users even compared it to Bobby Deol’s viral ‘Jamal Kudu’ moment from Animal, declaring, “Akshay Khanna’s Jamaal Kudu moment is here."

But in an unexpected twist, actor Danish Pandor, who plays Uzair Baloch in the film, revealed that there was no choreography planned for Akshaye’s moves. Instead, the actor spontaneously asked director Aditya Dhar if he could dance. “He did all of that on his own. Full choreography was happening and in the middle of that Akshaye sir asked Aditya, ‘can I dance?’ Aditya said, ‘whatever you feel like doing.’ So everyone is dancing and he looks at everyone and then he starts dancing on his own. And we were all awestruck," Danish told Filmygyan.

The track FA9LA, performed by Gulf-based hip-hop artist Flipperachi and originally released in 2024, translates to “fun time” or “party” in the Bahraini dialect. Thanks to Dhurandhar, the song has now gone viral in India, with Ranveer Singh earlier sharing a clip on Instagram and writing, “So here’s ‘THAT’ track from the movie. FLIPPERACHI."

Set in Pakistan, Dhurandhar follows an Indian spy navigating terror networks in Lyari. Along with Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, the film features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi and debutante Sara Arjun in pivotal roles.
