Akshay Kumar, who recently marked 38 years in the Hindi film industry, continues to inspire his fans not just with his work but also with his disciplined lifestyle. At 57, the actor remains one of the fittest stars in the business. In a recent conversation with ABP News, he opened up about the simple mantra that has kept him in top shape for decades.
Contrary to the perception that fitness requires extreme dietary restrictions, Akshay revealed that he enjoys traditional Indian food, including indulgent sweets and fried dishes. “Yes, I eat chole-puri. Till today, I eat jalebis and barfis—whatever I want to eat, I eat,” he said, surprising many who assumed he followed a strict diet. However, Akshay emphasised that one non-negotiable rule has defined his fitness journey- he never eats after 6:30 pm.
“It’s been 20 years since I stopped eating after sunset,” the actor explained. “Sometimes, of course, there are exceptions—like a friend’s birthday, where you taste the cake out of courtesy. Or when people offer drinks, I do cheers with them, but I quietly throw it away because I don’t even enjoy it.” This principle of early dinners, rooted in discipline and consistency, has been his biggest secret to staying lean and energetic.
Akshay also reflected on his long career in films. He acknowledged that while hard work matters, luck plays a much larger role. “You need 70% luck and 30% hard work. I’ve seen so many actors who are better-looking, more talented, and more skilled than me, but they never got the right opportunity. You have to be at the right place at the right time,” he said.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Jolly LLB 3 alongside Arshad Warsi. The courtroom drama has earned Rs 93.25 crore so far.
