Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has firmly cleared the air about something fans have often wondered: whether her daughter Aaradhya has a presence on social media.
Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival, the actress addressed the confusion head-on, making it absolutely clear that her daughter is not online in any capacity.
Over the years, several accounts claiming to represent Aaradhya have surfaced, some created lovingly by admirers.
While graciously acknowledging this, Aishwarya advised everyone to exercise caution. She explained that while many of these pages may be well-intentioned, they shouldn’t be mistaken for the real thing.
As she put it, "The things that are out there, sometimes people believe that's hers - no, it isn't. There is some well-wisher out there who's made it, I guess. Obviously, it comes from a place of love for Aaradhya, for my family, for my husband, for me, and thank you for all your love, but that isn't her; she's not on social media."
She encouraged fans to enjoy the affection but to remain mindful, especially when it comes to children who are not publicly active on digital platforms.
Aishwarya also discussed her personal relationship with social media, providing a nuanced viewpoint as opposed to a general recommendation or critique. She disclosed that she would rather maintain a minimal online presence and concentrate primarily on her work.
Explaining her approach, she said, "The thing about social media is that they are a part of life today. It is used as a platform to engage, to kind of share your professional work, for companies that engage with you to want to put the communication out and for colleagues to want to kind of encourage people's possible career opportunities. Yes, there are a lot of positives in that. But there's a lot. Everybody is on their phone, and everybody gets consumed. So that is our reality; there's no turning away from it."
What truly resonated, though, was her gentle plea for real-world connection. In an age where people often prioritise notifications over conversation, she reminded everyone to value the person standing right in front of them.

"It's all right if you're not giving me likes, not watching my posts, it's fine. Please engage with people around you."
Most recently, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appeared in the 2023 release Ponniyin Selvan 2, continuing her long-standing presence on the big screen.
