Ahaan Panday talks about how Ananya Panday journey inspires him

Ahaan Panday, who made his debut earlier this year with the musical drama Saiyaara, has opened up about the inspiration he draws from his cousin Ananya Panday, even if she never gave him direct advice.

The film, which also starred Aneet Padda, was a hit at the box office and earned Ahaan widespread recognition for his performance.

On the release day, Ananya showed her support in her own playful way, declaring herself part of her cousin’s fan club and cheering him on.

In a candid chat with GQ, Ahaan explained, “Ananya’s never personally given me advice, but her journey has inspired me. People don’t realise how young she was when she started. She has grown with the industry, and in just a few years, has evolved so much as an artist. Watching your little sister move mountains—that just makes you proud.”

Ahaan also shared how his family initially felt uncertain about his decision to pursue acting. “I was 16 when I gave my first audition. At the time, Ananya wasn’t even working yet; she is a year younger and hadn’t started Student of the Year. But my parents weren’t keen on me joining the industry. While my uncle Chunky Panday has done phenomenally well in his career and become a household name, he’s had his ups and downs. My dad saw that and wondered if this was the right path for me,” he revealed, giving insight into the family dynamics behind his career choice.

Saiyaara centres on the love story between Krish Kapoor (Ahaan), an aspiring musician, and Vaani Batra (Aneet), a shy writer, whose romance takes unexpected twists along the way.

The film received praise for its two leads' on-screen chemistry, soulful music, and new cast.

Ahaan is getting ready for his upcoming performance opposite Sharvari in an action thriller. Ananya, meanwhile, was last seen in Kesari Chapter 2 and will next star in Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Kartik Aaryan.
