Bigg Boss 19: Pranit More takes an indirect dig at Samay Raina before entering the house: "Waise bhi samay theek nahi chal raha hai"

Comedian Pranit More made a fiery entry into Bigg Boss 19 on Sunday, and it did not take long for him to spark headlines. While interacting with host Salman Khan on stage before entering the house, Pranit seemingly took a sly jab at fellow comedian Samay Raina, who has been embroiled in multiple controversies over the past year.

Introducing Pranit as one of the contestants, Salman teased him about whether he was planning to indulge in controversies or keep a low profile inside the house. Pranit responded with his trademark wit but added a sharp twist. He said, “Even if I don’t try, comedians are always in controversy. Waise bhi samay theek nahi chal raha hai (The time is not right for us).”

The remark instantly caught attention, given Samay Raina’s ongoing legal troubles. Continuing his banter, Pranit added, “Ab jaana hi hota hai har comedian ko, toh socha Bigg Boss chale jaun (Now if I have to get locked up, I thought I might as well get locked inside the Bigg Boss house).”

Salman, visibly amused, quipped, “Tum gaye ho kya? (Have you been to jail?).” To which Pranit quickly clarified that he had never been to jail. The moment set the tone for his bold personality and hinted that Pranit might not shy away from controversy inside the Bigg Boss house either.

Just earlier this year, Pranit himself was in the news when he was allegedly assaulted by a group of men in Solapur after one of his stand-up shows. The group, reportedly fans of Bollywood debutant Veer Pahariya, attacked him over jokes related to the actor. Veer later issued a clarification and an apology, saying, “I want to make it absolutely clear—I had no involvement in this, and I strongly condemn any form of violence… To Pranit and his fans—I am deeply sorry that this happened.”

Meanwhile, Samay Raina has faced significant backlash this year. He, along with other YouTubers, was booked following his show India’s Got Latent for allegedly promoting obscenity. Additionally, the Supreme Court of India directed him and other influencers to issue apologies for derogatory remarks made against persons with disabilities.

With his opening comments, Pranit has already ensured that his stint on Bigg Boss 19 will be closely watched. Whether his “dig” at Samay was intentional or just playful wordplay, it has certainly given audiences much to talk about as Salman Khan kickstarted the season under the theme “Gharwalon Ki Sarkar.”
