BIGBANG, often hailed as the Kings of K-pop, is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. Taeyang, a core member of the legendary group, recently shared exciting plans for commemorating the milestone, sparking immense anticipation among VIPs (BIGBANG's fandom).

During an appearance on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special broadcast, Taeyang confirmed that the group is planning special fan events to mark their 20th anniversary. He expressed his excitement about reconnecting with fans and celebrating two decades of BIGBANG's groundbreaking legacy alongside his fellow members.

Earlier, G-Dragon had also teased the idea of celebrating the anniversary, stating his enthusiasm for doing something memorable for the occasion. Although BIGBANG currently operates as a trio—comprising G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung—fans are hopeful that T.O.P, who departed the group in 2023, will rejoin for the celebrations.

Since their debut in 2006, BIGBANG has redefined the global music scene with their innovative sound and iconic performances. They were among the first K-pop groups to break into the Billboard charts, paving the way for subsequent K-pop artists and playing a pivotal role in the international spread of the Hallyu Wave.

BIGBANG reunited in 2024 for the release of Home Sweet Home, their first collaboration in years. This marked a significant moment for fans eager to see the members back together.

On November 23, 2024, the group made a triumphant stage comeback at the MAMA Awards in Osaka, Japan. G-Dragon kicked off the performance with his solo track POWER, followed by the group's electrifying renditions of Bang Bang Bang and Home Sweet Home.

Adding to the excitement, G-Dragon and Taeyang appeared as guests on Daesang’s YouTube talk show, ZIP Daesang, marking their first joint appearance since 2017.
