Actor-politician Joy Banerjee passed away at the age of 62 on Monday in Kolkata.

Actor and BJP leader Joy Banerjee has passed away. He breathed his last at 11:35 am on Monday at a private hospital in Kolkata. He was 62 years old.

He had been ill with a respiratory ailment. The person best known as Hiru from Hirak Jayanti had been ill for a number of years, but in the past few days, his condition has gotten worse.

A private hospital close to Bypass was treating him. He was connected to the entertainment industry and a member of the BJP state committee.

He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital near Bypass. He was a member of the BJP state committee and was associated with the acting world.

He had contested Lok Sabha and Assembly elections representing the BJP. He had been suffering from breathing-related issues for a long time. Party workers had visited him at the hospital. He was born on May 23, 1963.

He was the former husband of Trinamool councillor Ananya Banerjee. Joy contested as the BJP candidate in the Birbhum and Uluberia Lok Sabha constituencies in 2014 and 2019.
