Superboys of Malegaon, directed by Reema Kagti, has finally made its way to the big screen. The film is based on the inspiring true story of Nasir Sheikh and his friends from the small town of Malegaon. These dreamers, with limited resources, dared to create their own cinematic universe, a journey that has captivated audiences with its heartwarming and motivational message.
While the story has been well received, bringing it to life was no easy feat. One of the most challenging parts of the film was the climax scene, which, surprisingly, took a whopping 72 hours to shoot.
Despite the scene lasting just two minutes on screen, the intricate planning and effort required for its execution were monumental.
Actor Adarsh Gourav, known for his roles in The White Tiger and Raat Akeli Hai, spoke candidly about the difficulty of shooting this particular sequence.
He shared, “Climax scene shoot karna bohot mushkil tha kyu ki hum teen din ke across, jo wo 2 minute ka scene dekhre last mai. Wo humne teen din ke across shoot kia tha,” underscoring the commitment and effort put into the film.
A collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, Excel Entertainment, and Tiger Baby, Superboys of Malegaon is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.
The film’s script, penned by Varun Grover, features a stellar ensemble cast, including Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora in pivotal roles. Their performances bring depth to the characters and help convey the essence of the story.
Now playing on the big screens, Superboys of Malegaon is also premiering internationally, including in India, the US, UK, UAE, Australia, and New Zealand. The film has already begun to win hearts worldwide, and its inspiring message of perseverance and creativity is resonating with audiences across the globe.
