Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have always been particular about their vegan diet that they have been following for years now.

Chef Harsh Dixit, who is one of the most popular private chefs in the entertainment industry, recently spoke about cooking for the celebrity couple, and when he had to make a dish that was supposed to be made with snake wine and snake meat for one of their wedding anniversaries.

During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Harsh recalled the time when he cooked a special meal for Virat and Anushka on their third wedding anniversary, in 2019.

He said, "I made Pho, but with a twist. There’s chicken and beef in the broth. But they were eating gluten-free at the time, so we went with rice noodles, which are traditional in Pho and gluten-free.”

Although the couple follows a vegan lifestyle, traditional Pho typically contains non-vegetarian elements. This led him to innovate by making snake gourd the star ingredient of a plant-based version of the dish.

“Vietnamese cuisine includes a lot of snake – snake wine, even snake meat. So, how about serving ‘snakes’ to vegans? The idea was to have fun while staying within the dietary boundaries. That’s what being a private chef is about," he shared.

In an earlier conversation with IANS, Harsh revealed that he was notified only a few hours before the dinner was set to take place.

He mentioned that the situation was quite chaotic, as he received the call on a Saturday and had to submit the menu later that same evening.

Further emphasising his experience, Harsh said, “It was a five-course vegan dinner, an entirely private dining experience in his home. For me, the opportunity was not just a win professionally, but it also underscored the importance of providing personalised, private dining for athletes who can’t enjoy the same restaurant freedom as others."

Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in December 2017 and the couple share two kids- Vamika and Akaay.
