Anupamaa actor Shivam Khajurria aka Prem opens up about the fire incident on the set, "The place was in shambles, Rupali Ganguly broke down"

Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly, has been one of the most popular and highly rated serials on Indian television, capturing the hearts of viewers with its plot and performances.

A fire that started on the sets a few weeks ago was an unanticipated setback for the team.  A key character in the show, actor Shivam Khajurria, recently recollected that day and talked about how much it affected both the team and him.

Speaking exclusively to BollywoodLife, Shivam reflected on the situation. He was quoted as, "The day of the fire was actually my weekly off. When I saw the news, I immediately started making calls. Even though everyone reassured me that nothing major had happened, I wasn’t convinced, so I went to the set myself. As soon as I reached, seeing the place in shambles brought tears to my eyes. This set is our workspace, our second home. But when I saw Rajan Shahi sir holding himself strong, it gave me courage too. He didn’t let anyone panic, even though I could sense he was worried deep down. He assured us that we would resume shooting soon and also confirmed that everyone including the dogs on set was safe and unharmed.”

He further added, “I also saw Rupali ma’am break down, which was completely understandable. She has been with this show since its inception and has seen it grow from scratch.

For someone like me, who has been part of Anupamaa for just a year, it was painful, so I can only imagine what she must have felt. Watching Rupali ma’am and Rajan sir carry themselves with so much strength in such a situation gave all of us the courage we didn’t even know we had.”

In Rajan Shahi's Anupamaa, Shivam plays the part of Prem, and his performance has been receiving praise from audiences. The audience has quickly come to identify with him, and his character adds newness and relatability to the plot.
