In a surprising development, police officers recently showed up at Mumbai's Film City and disrupted the set of the popular television drama Anupamaa, which starred Rupali Ganguly.
Actor Jatin Suri, who plays Raja in the show, got into a personal argument that caused the disturbance. India Forums reported that the actor's girlfriend arrived at the shooting site and made grave accusations of blackmail.
As per India Forums, the confrontation escalated to a point where she involved law enforcement. The police were called to the sets and, following preliminary enquiries, both Jatin and his girlfriend were taken to the nearest police station for further questioning.
The situation caused considerable disruption, drawing the attention of crew members and onlookers alike. As of now, no official statement has been issued by the police or the production house, and further details remain awaited.
Jatin Suri refused to comment when contacted by an entertainment portal about the allegations. Known for his parts in Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam Aur Shartein Laagu (2023) and Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (2015), the actor made a big comeback to television earlier this year in February when he joined Anupamaa.
Speaking to ETimes earlier about his casting, Jatin shared his joy, saying, “Everyone knows Anupamaa is the number-one show, and even in my house, this was the only show being watched. My mother always used to tell me, ‘I wish you get to be a part of this show.’ We often say that the universe listens, and it truly did. Now that I am in the show, she is overjoyed. It’s a blessing from my parents.”
Reflecting on his journey, he added, “This is like my comeback, and I got emotional when Rajan sir and his team trusted me with this role... I was confident, and I felt connected to my role immediately.”
Jatin Suri, has also starred in shows like Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam Aur Shartein Laagu (2023) and Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (2015).
