Ananya Panday opts out of Imtiaz Ali's upcoming movie due to date issues, more details inside

As per Pinkvilla, the reason Ananya Panday and Imtiaz Ali won't be working together on the period love story is due to a scheduling conflict, with their shooting dates not aligning.

Earlier reports had hinted at a collaboration between Ananya Panday and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for an upcoming period romance. However, recent updates reveal that the two have amicably decided to part ways.

As per Pinkvilla, the reason Ananya Panday and Imtiaz Ali won't be working together on the period love story is due to a scheduling conflict, with their shooting dates not aligning. While there were rumors suggesting that Ananya opted for the rom-com Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri with Kartik Aaryan over Imtiaz Ali's project, these claims have been debunked. The real issue was simply a timing clash.

This would have been the first time, Ananya and Imtiaz would have worked together.

According to the publication, Naseeruddin Shah will be joining Imtiaz Ali's upcoming project, alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Vedang Raina.

The film will showcase three actresses from different generations, with the casting process currently underway. While the project is still untitled, it is expected to begin filming in Summer 2025 and is slated for a theatrical release during the Valentine's Day weekend in 2026.

Imtiaz Ali is also busy working on the romantic comedy Idiots of Istanbul, starring Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri. Meanwhile, Ananya Panday has an exciting slate of films lined up for her fans, including Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri alongside Kartik Aaryan, Chand Mera Dil with Lakshya, and Kesari Chapter 2, where she will star with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan.
