Pune Highway gets a new release date

The highly anticipated thriller Pune Highway's original release date of May 16 has been officially postponed by one week, with a new date of May 23 now confirmed. The movie's production team made the announcement in a formal statement.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to shift the release of our film Pune Highway from May 16 to May 23. We look forward to seeing you at the cinemas,” read the note from the makers.

The postponement coincides with a wave of rescheduling in the Indian film industry, mostly due to the sociopolitical environment after Operation Sindoor, a high-profile mission carried out by India's military in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.

Changes have been made to a number of entertainment calendars as a result of the nationwide operation, including promotional campaigns and theatrical releases.

Pune Highway, a gripping, character-driven whodunit based on the highly regarded stage play of the same name, was directed by Bugs Bhargava Krishna and Rahul daCunha. It is a powerful cinematic examination of moral ambiguity, fear, and treachery.

Amit Sadh and Jim Sarbh lead the film's impressive ensemble cast. Anuvab Pal, Manjari Fadnnis, Ketki Narayan, Sudeep Modak, Abhishek Krishnan, Swapnil Ajgaonkar, and the seasoned Shishir Sharma join them. Every performer enhances the film's gripping plot by contributing a unique presence.

Pune Highway, which is produced by Drop D Films and Ten Years Younger Productions, has already received favourable reviews at festivals. Audiences praised its taut storytelling and nuanced performances during its enthusiastic premiere at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) last year.
