Allu Arjun starrer Arya 2 was re-released in selected theatres on April 5 ahead of the actor’s birthday on April 8. The film was re-released in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Sandhya Theatre, where the Pushpa 2 stampede took a woman’s life.
However, the authorities made sure that fans could enjoy the film in theatres and deployed high security.
According to ABP Live, the re-release saw strong ticket sales, with single screens running houseful shows. However, due to a security lapse during the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule in December 2024, authorities remained cautious and implemented strict safety measures to protect the audience.
The film was also screened at Sandhya 70 mm and 35 mm theatres at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad. To maintain order and prevent any incidents, police were deployed at the venue.
The reports further suggested that around 30 police personnel were present at the theatre during the release. Security checks were also heightened, with bags and vehicles being inspected.
For the unversed, during a special screening of his recent film Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, Arjun's appearance at Sandhya Theatre led to a massive crowd surge as fans rushed to meet him.
