All India Cine Workers Association has sought a ban on Samay Raina hosted show India's Got Latent after podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia's vulgar comments during one of its episodes.
An FIR has already been lodged against Allahbadia after his vulgar comments went viral.
Mumbai Police team has also visited Ranveer Allahbadia's home after complaints were filed against the podcaster.
He joined the show alongside other well-known content creators, such as Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, who is also recognized as Rebel Kid.
The controversy erupted when Allahbadia made an inappropriate remark that quickly went viral, prompting the Guwahati Police to file an FIR. The police have accused Allahbadia and the other judges of promoting offensive and sexually explicit content during their time on the show.
In the episode in question, Ranveer asked a contestant an inappropriate and troubling question, sparking widespread concern about the responsibility of influencers and content creators in shaping today’s media landscape.
The question he posed was, "Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"
The inappropriate remark quickly ignited outrage on social media, with many viewers deeming it distasteful and damaging.
In light of the controversy, Ranveer Allahbadia issued an apology, taking responsibility for his mistake and expressing regret for his inappropriate comment. However, the incident has had a lasting effect on his public image.
Despite issuing an apology, the damage to Ranveer Allahbadia's online presence has been substantial. In the five days following the controversy, he lost over 8,350 followers, with noticeable declines across both his BeerBiceps and personal Ranveer Allahbadia accounts.
The backlash has affected his social media following, highlighting the growing impact that public figures' actions can have on their digital influence. As his fanbase reacts to the fallout, Allahbadia faces an uphill battle to regain the trust of his audience.
