Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's wedding was not just a high-profile Bollywood event; it was also a logistical nightmare for those managing the security. Renowned security consultant Yusuf Ibrahim recently opened up about why their wedding was the “toughest” he’s ever handled, citing an overwhelming crowd, celebrity guests, and intense media presence as the key challenges.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Yusuf shared the chaos surrounding the couple's intimate wedding at their Pali Hill residence. “The toughest ever wedding we managed was that of Alia Bhatt. There were at least 350 people from media houses alone. Every media company sent representatives, including regional channels. The entire area was swarmed by fans and press, blocking both roads leading to Pali Hill,” he recalled.
The challenges didn’t end there. Yusuf revealed that the building’s single entry-and-exit gate further complicated the situation. With celebrity guests arriving in droves, the team had to escort vehicles from a distance and ensure seamless entry amid the frenzy. Even the building’s residents reportedly grew frustrated with the chaos.

To handle the unprecedented crowd, Yusuf deployed a team of 60 security personnel per shift, working round the clock in eight-hour rotations. ““I had kept half of my boys in uniform and the rest of them in civil dress so that they could manage it well and keep an eye on everybody without making them conscious. They would update me that the media is planning to climb the wall and so, I would instruct them to cover the walls. This is how we managed,” he explained.
Despite the hurdles, Yusuf’s team successfully managed the event without any major incidents. He credits his rapport with the couple for their trust. “I’ve known Alia since her debut in Student of the Year and began working with Ranbir after Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. They trust me with my work,” he said.
