As the release date approaches, the excitement surrounding Housefull 5 is intensifying. Preparations are underway as the highly anticipated comedy approaches its theatrical release in less than two weeks.
The film, which stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, is expected to be a flurry of confusion, mayhem, and humour. The makers are preparing a unique and daring marketing strategy in advance of the movie's June 6, 2025, theatrical release, which will only heighten the intrigue.
A recent Pinkvilla report claims that Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer, sent the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) two separate cuts of Housefull 5. The board evaluated both versions, and the movie received a U/A certificate.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, “Housefull 5 is a one-of-its-kind comic thriller, and to keep the mystery of this entertainer intact, the producer has submitted two different versions of the film to the Central Board of Film Certification. Interestingly, both the versions have been watched by the members of the board, and the film has been certified U/A."
Industry insiders speculate that Nadiadwala's strategy may represent a first-of-its-kind cinematic twist meant to generate buzz and surprise both viewers and critics, though the precise reason for this unusual move is still unknown.
The mystery surrounding the two censor certificates is anticipated to be revealed closer to the release, suggesting that this strategy is not without purpose, according to the report. But one thing is for sure: this ambitious project will be unlike anything that has ever been seen in Indian comedy.

Another detail that sets Housefull 5 apart is its massive ensemble cast — a staggering 24 actors, making it the largest star cast in the franchise to date. “It’s 2 hours and 43 minutes of non-stop entertainment. While the confusion of Housefull stays intact, the story-telling pattern is something not seen before in the world. The makers have promised a killer comedy, with lots of confusion caused by 24 actors in the star-cast,” the source added.
In addition to Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir, the film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
Fans will get a sneak peek at this outrageous comedy extravaganza when the trailer is released on May 27.
