Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan to team up with director Priyadarshan for new film Haiwaan

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s much-awaited reunion for a gripping thriller has set the internet abuzz, and now, the project has an official title—Haiwaan. The title, which translates to "beast" in English, hints at an intense, edge-of-the-seat cinematic experience that promises to unleash a storm at the box office.

Fans are ecstatic about their reunion on screen, which comes 17 years after their last appearance in the 2008 movie Tashan.

Haiwaan, which is directed by the well-known Priyadarshan, is expected to be a thriller that makes use of the dynamic on-screen energies of both stars.

According to a source from a major portal, the title was picked with care to reflect the mood and spirit of the movie. “The team felt this describes their subject the best, and conveys exactly how Priyadarshan sees it—as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. There were other titles in contention, but this one clicked unanimously, given the characters the lead actors play,” the source said.

The film's production is scheduled to start in August of next year, with a 2026 theatrical debut as the ultimate goal. It is anticipated that Akshay Kumar, who just finished filming Bhooth Bangla, which was also directed by Priyadarshan, will bring his trademark intensity to the part.
