Celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s mother Sudarshan Malhotra passed away on March 19 at the age of 94. After she passed away, several people from the fashion and entertainment industries came to his Mumbai home to express their condolences.
Celebrities, including Karan Johar, Ronit Roy, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Khushi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, Jackky Bhagnani, Rakul Preet Singh, Vijay Varma, Saiyami Kher, Sophie Choudry, Karan Tacker, David Dhawan, Rohit Dhawan, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, attended her final rites on Friday at the Hindu Crematorium in Santa Cruz West.
Manish looked emotional and devastated when he arrived for the prayer meet on Saturday, March 21.
Ajay Devgn, Kajol and their daughter Nysa Devgan, Twinkle Khanna, Bobby Deol, Gauahar Khan, Urmila Matondkar, singer Armaan Malik, Anu Malik, Gauri Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Ibrahim Ali Khan, David Dhawan, and Sophie Choudry were among the other celebrities who were spotted coming to offer their condolences.
Manish paid a moving homage to her late mother on social media on Friday by using his Instagram account. He posted a photo of her on Instagram. Manish expressed his love and claimed he will always miss his late mother.
The designer penned in the caption, "Love and Miss you Forever", followed by a red heart and folded hands emoji.
In the meantime, Manish has postponed his couture showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI 2026 due to his mother's passing. The designer's team has announced that the event, which was originally planned for Saturday, March 21, will not happen.
