At least on the big screen, the battle lines are already being drawn. Hrithik Roshan and his War 2 co-star Jr. NTR have begun a light-hearted "war" in a creative and playful promotional exchange.

Hrithik sent a mobile billboard with a cheeky reference to the Oscar-winning song Naatu Naatu to Jr. NTR's house, a move that caused social media to go crazy.

The billboard read: “Naatu Naatu as much as you want but I am winning this war” This tongue-in-cheek jab comes as the duo gears up for their highly anticipated cinematic showdown.

Jr NTR, who is making his grand Bollywood debut with this high-octane YRF Spy Universe film, took the banter sportingly.

Sharing the image of the billboard on Instagram, he wrote: “Nice return gift @hrithikroshan sir But this is not the end! The War begins for real on 14th August. See you then!” Not one to back down, Jr NTR returned fire with a billboard of his own, which appeared outside Hrithik’s Mumbai home.

The message on it read: “Ghungroo toot jaayenge par hum se yeh war jeet nahi paaoge.”

The two celebrities' playful and feisty back-and-forth has only increased the excitement surrounding Ayan Mukerji's War 2. The film, which is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025, has been certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and has a duration of 2 hours and 53 minutes.

It promises a thrilling mix of espionage and action, and it will add to the already expanding YRF Spy Universe.

War 2 establishes the framework for the upcoming franchise installment, Alpha, which stars Alia Bhatt and also features Kiara Advani in a crucial role.

Although there are rumours that Alia will appear in War 2, there hasn't been any official confirmation as of yet. The teaser sets the stage for an amazing cinematic confrontation between Jr. NTR's Nataraj and Hrithik's Kabir by hinting at a tense and gritty face-off.
