In a surprising turn of events, popular TV actor Deven Bhojani found himself at the center of a death hoax. The actor, known for his role as Dushyant in the beloved sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was compelled to clarify his well-being to fans after a misleading condolence message about his supposed demise began circulating on social media.

The incident began when a user on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a heartfelt message mourning Bhojani’s alleged death. The post quickly gained traction, with fans expressing their sorrow and sharing their fond memories of the actor’s performances. However, the news of Bhojani’s death was greatly exaggerated.

Reacting to the false news, Deven Bhojani took to his own social media to set the record straight. On July 22, 2024, he posted, "Hello! Hello! Hello! I’m alive yaar (sic)," putting an end to the rumors of his death. His tweet was met with relief and amusement from fans, many of whom were quick to chastise the user responsible for spreading the false information.

Bhojani’s response was not only a reassurance to his worried fans but also a humorous nod to the absurdity of the situation. His tweet, infused with his characteristic wit, mirrored the humor that made his character Dushyant a household favorite. This response further endeared him to his audience, demonstrating his ability to handle even bizarre circumstances with grace and humor.

In an interview with TOI, Bhojani expressed his mixed feelings about the situation. "I feel so proud that even after 20 years of the show, people still remember Dushyant and he has become so iconic. In fact, I was showing my mother the memes which flooded on my account when the systems broke down on Friday," he said. The actor’s statement highlights the enduring legacy of his role in "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai," a show that remains a cultural touchstone for many viewers even two decades after its original airing.

The death hoax incident occurred shortly after a wave of Dushyant-inspired memes took over the internet, prompted by a recent Microsoft outage. Fans of "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai" created and shared memes featuring Dushyant’s iconic catchphrase "I'll explain," humorously attributing the technical issues to his character’s overly technical explanations. This resurgence in the popularity of Dushyant memes underscores the lasting impact of Bhojani’s performance and the show’s continued relevance in contemporary popular culture.

For those unfamiliar, Deven Bhojani is a multifaceted actor and director who has left an indelible mark on Indian television. Apart from his role in "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai," he has been involved in various other projects, both in front of and behind the camera. Bhojani has been away from TV for the past two years, choosing to focus on acting in films and web series. His notable recent roles include appearances in "Dunki," "Scoop," and "Agneepath." Additionally, he served as the director for "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai," showcasing his versatility and talent in the industry.
