A crew member from Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2 was allegedly assaulted in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, by local residents, leading to police intervention, an FIR, and the arrest of the main accused.
The incident happened on 27 August while the movie was being filmed on Thornhill Road, according to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Abhijeet Kumar.
According to reports, a group of locals attacked BR Chopra Films' production manager, Zoheb Solapurwala. On August 28, a formal complaint was filed at the Civil Lines Police Station by Saurabh Tiwari, the film's line producer. Later, police verified that Meraj Ali, the main accused, had been arrested.
For those unaware, Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2's filming has just begun in Prayagraj, and issues have already arisen on the sets. Two locals are seen approaching a crew member who was in the middle of filming a car sequence in viral videos that have gone viral online.\
Some locals allegedly attacked the crew after what started as a disagreement turned into a physical altercation. A fight broke out as some onlookers joined in to try to defuse the situation.
So far, the film’s makers have not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Pati, Patni Aur Woh 2 is the sequel to the 2019 hit starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday. This time, Ayushmann Khurrana takes over the male lead from Kartik, with Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi playing the female leads.
