Aamir Khan has been in the entertainment industry for more than three decades. The actor has starred and produced some of Bollywood’s top films. However, he has recently talked about his journey and reflected on his fees.

During the session titled '60 and Not Done of Ideas of India Summit 2025, Aamir was asked how he has managed to experiment with his roles in films, unlike many stars who stick to a particular image. The actor also shared a revealing fact about his fee structure.

Aamir shared that he does not charge anything for acting in his films. The actor shared, "Pichle 20-1 sal se mai fee nahi leta film karne ki. Toh agar apko film pasand aati hai to main kamata huin, aur agar nahi, to mai bhi nahi kamata (From the last 20 years, I have stopped taking film fees as an actor. I only earn if the film does well)."

Aamir Khan explained that he wishes his films to earn at least Rs 20-30 crore to cover production costs. He explained that if a film costs Rs 200 crore to make and the star's fee is high, it's hard to recover the costs if the film fails.

This is still practised in Europe widely)" He also said that this approach allows him to take on challenging film projects without worrying about the cost.

Aamir Khan was last seen in Salaam Venky. The actor is expected to next star in Sitaare Zameen Par alongside Genelia D'Souza. Directed by R S Prasanna, the upcoming film is produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. It is a sequel to Aamir’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par.
