Following the passing of legendary actor Manoj Kumar on April 4, a heartfelt prayer meet was held in Mumbai on Sunday, April 6, to honour his legacy and immense contribution to Indian cinema.
The event saw the presence of several eminent personalities from the film industry, including Jaya Bachchan and Aamir Khan, who joined friends, fellow actors, and filmmakers in paying their respects to the iconic star. The evening was a poignant tribute to a man whose influence on Bollywood remains unparalleled.
The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) organised the memorial gathering at JW Marriott in Juhu, between 4 and 6 PM.
Among others who arrived, Aamir Khan was also present at the prayer meet. In several paparazzi videos on Instagram, he was seen arriving at the venue in a casual kurta and pyjama.
Former actress and now politician Jaya Bachchan also attended the prayer meet to offer her condolences. She was seen engaging in a conversation with singer Anu Malik outside the venue.
Former actress Padmini Kolhapure also attended the meet on Sunday.
Veteran actor Prem Chopra, filmmakers Rakesh Roshan and Subhash Ghai were spotted arriving at the prayer meet venue.
Others who attended the prayer meet include Farhan Akhtar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ramesh Sippy and Esha Deol.
Manoj Kumar breathed his last on April 4, 2025 at the age of 87. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and passed away after battling prolonged illness.
