Aamir Khan expresses his desire to play Lord Krishna in Mahabharata, says, "I’m very inspired by him"

Aamir Khan is reported to be making a high-budget film based on the Mahabharata. The casting of the film is yet to be done but the actor has recently admitted what role he would like to play.

Aamir Khan hints at his role in Mahabharata

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par, recently created a buzz among his fans with the update on the multi-film adaptation of the Mahabharata.

The actor confirmed his involvement in the film and revealed that he is expecting the film to go on the floors this year. However, the actor has now revealed that he wanted to play Krishna in the adaptation of the epic.

During a recent conversation at the India@2047 Summit hosted by ABP Live, Aamir admitted that the film remains close to his heart and that he finds the character of Krishna deeply impactful.

The actor said, “Yeh mera sapna hai ke main bana paun Mahabharat, lekin bohot mushkil sapna hai woh… (It is my dream to make the Mahabharat, but it’s a very difficult dream).” He explained, “see, Mahabharat will never let you down… but you might let Mahabharat down.”

While responding to which character he would like to play in the film, Aamir said, “Actually… mujhe Krishna ka kirdaar bahot hi prabhavit karta hai… I’m very inspired by him. So that’s a character I really love (I find the character of Krishna deeply impactful. So that’s a character I really love)."

The actor further added, “Kyunki yeh bahot bada project hai, toh main kuch badi cheezein bolna nahi chah raha hoon (Since this is such a big project, I don’t want to say anything major right now)."

The actor is reported to be making a high-budget film based on the Mahabharata. The casting of the film is yet to be done.

Meanwhile, Aamir will return to the silver screen with a Taare Zameen Par sequel after around three years. The film features an ensemble cast including Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh in the lead roles.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the upcoming sequel is based on the 2018 Spanish film Champions. Sitaare Zameen Par will be released in the theatres on June 20.
