Key members of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance on Friday supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a third consecutive term.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu also accepted the proposal to elect Modi as the alliance's prime ministerial candidate. "...Narendra Modi has a vision and a zeal, his execution is very perfect. He is executing all his policies with a true spirit...Today, India is having the right leader - that is Narendra Modi. This is a very good opportunity for India, if you miss now, we will miss forever...," said Naidu.
He also said he had never seen a leader like PM Modi in the four decades of his political career. "I can give the entire credit to Narendra Modi ji for making India proud globally. That is his biggest achievement for the country. Under his leadership, we have reached the fifth-largest economy in the world," he said.
Naidu said the alliance is confident that during third tenure PM Modi is going to make India, the third-largest economy in the world. "At the same time, he is planning Viksit Bharat Vision 2047. Under his leadership, if you go anywhere in the world, the highest per capita income is earned by Indians. I am confident. Under his leadership, Indians are going to become global leaders in the near future...," said the TDP chief.
Naidu also congratualed all the newly elected members of Lok Sabha for winning a "wonderful majority". "I have seen during the election campaign, for 3 months PM Modi never took any rest. Day and night he has campaigned. He started and ended with the same spirit. In Andhra Pradesh, we had 3 public meetings and 1 big rally and it has made a huge difference in winning the election in Andhra Pradesh..." he said.
The NDA bagged 293 seats in the 543-member Lok Sabha. However, the BJP secured only 240 seats, falling short of the 272 needed for a majority government.
Chandrababu Naidu's TDP with 16 seats, Nitish Kumar's JDU with 12, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena with 7, and Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas with 5 are crucial to BJP for forming the government.
