Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the NDA campaign and hold 12 rallies across the state from October 24. Apart from the prime minister, top leaders of the ruling alliance, including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, will also hold multiple rallies in the poll-bound state.

After rounds of endless negotiations, the main opposition Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) in Bihar was unable to finalise its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming assembly elections. Traditionally, the RJD has dominated the seat-sharing negotiations within the alliance. But this time, the Congress and the VIP have pushed harder — not just for more seats but also for “quality” (winnable) seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar is falling apart, with partners leaving one by one.

The Congress party on Saturday released its second batch of candidates for the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections, introducing five new names to the 48 candidates previously announced in the party’s initial list.

In Bihar assembly elections, a galaxy of star campaigners have descended in support of NDA supported candidates. Chief Ministers of Haryana, Tripura, Odisha, and Goa addressed public meetings in support of NDA candidates. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini campaigned in Katihar and Triveniganj, asserting that people of Bihar will vote on development issues and that the NDA will win by a large majority.

The RJD, Congress, and Left parties have also intensified their campaigns. Senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel stated that public anger against the NDA is at its peak in this election. RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari alleged that there is discontent over leadership within the NDA, and that some constituent parties are not supporting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for another term.

The Bihar Election 2025 will be the first election the country will witness after Operation Sindoor, which was launched on May 7 by the Indian armed forces in response to the April 2022 Pahalgam terror attack.
