CM Nitish Kumar addresses a public gathering in Saharsa. He says, “The previous government (RJD) did nothing, but we have increased the pension amount from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100. This will benefit people. There used to be no electricity even in Patna earlier, but with time, we initiated ‘Har Ghar Bijli Yojana’ in 2018. Now, you get electricity for free.”

CM Nitish Kumar addresses a public gathering in Saharsa as the first phase of voting nears. He says, “Since we got the opportunity on November 24, 2005, we have worked for the welfare of the people. They (RJD) did nothing for you; there was no education, no roads, no electricity, and crime was on the rise. People used to avoid going out. But we have only worked for the development of Bihar.”

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday said the upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar will be conducted in a completely peaceful and transparent manner under the framework of law and order.

In his first election speech in Begusarai on Sunday for the upcoming Bihar elections, Rahul Gandhi said, "Narendra Modi gives speeches, comes, and makes promises, saying he will do whatever you ask until election day. But after the elections, he neither comes to Bihar nor listens to you; he simply leaves."

He added, "I say, whatever you want done, get it done now. PM can do anything for votes; tell him to do yoga, he will do few asanas. But after the elections, all the singing and dancing will be done by Adani and Ambani. This entire thing is just a drama."

Addressing an election rally in Bihar's Arrah on Sunday, PM Modi said, "explosions were happening in Pakistan, yet it was the Congress royal family that lost sleep. Even today, Pakistan and the Congress’s prince have not been able to recover from the shock of Operation Sindoor."

On the arrest of JDU's Mokama candidate Anant Singh in the Dularchand Yadav murder case, RJD candidate from Mokama Veena Devi says, "...The incident was between two candidates and we have nothing to do with it..."

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is unlikely to win between 60 and 70 seats in the upcoming Bihar election. The former election strategist said that the saffron party ‘cannot stand on its own feet’ in Bihar until it has a face in the state.

Violence marred the election process in Mokama, Bihar. On Friday, supporters of two local dons clashed triggering tension between two castes. There were incidents of firing and stoning, and vehicles were smashed. Local gangsters threatened more killings as politics raged over a dead body.  Personal enmity between Anant Singh and Dularchand Yadav is nearly two decades old. In 1991, Dularchand's name figured in the murder of a local Congress leader Sitaram Singh. This time, Dularchand wanted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to field Piyush Priyadarshi as candidate. Tejashwi had done a road show with Priyadarshi in Mokama and had distributed pens to supporters. But at the last moment, Tejashwi changed his mind and gave the party ticket to local don Surajbhan Singh's wife Veena Devi.

Sunday promises to be a high-voltage political day in the state, with several top leaders campaigning across the state. Alongside PM Modi’s programmes, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold rallies in Muzaffarpur and Vaishali, while Rahul Gandhi will address gatherings in Begusarai and Khagaria. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav is scheduled to campaign in Munger, Patna, Vaishali, and Saran.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar on Sunday for a packed one-day election campaign, featuring multiple rallies and a grand roadshow in Patna. The Prime Minister will address two consecutive rallies, first in Arrah at 1:30 p.m., followed by another in Nawada at 3:30 p.m. He is expected to return to Patna around 5 p.m.

The Election Commission on Saturday ordered the transfer of Patna Superintendent of Police (Rural) and action against three other officials, taking a stern view of violence in Mokama, involving the killing of Yadav. “The Commission directed that Vikram Sihag, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Patna, may also be transferred. Hence, a panel of officers for posting a substitute in his place may be sent urgently,” the poll authority told the state chief electoral officer on Saturday.

Addressing a late-night joint press conference with Patna District Magistrate Thyagarajan S. M., Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Patna, Kartikeya Sharma, said, “Police have arrested three persons — Anant Singh, Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram — in connection with the murder of Dular Chand Yadav.” According to Yadav’s post-mortem report, he died of cardiorespiratory failure due to shock caused by injury to the heart and lungs by a hard and blunt substance, the SSP said.

Singh, who has been under the scanner since the killing of Yadav, who recently clashed with his sympathisers, was picked up from his house in Barh, about 200 km from the State capital. Police also arrested two other persons, Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram, who were also present when the incident took place.
