The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the date for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. The national-level entrance test for admission to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) programmes in the IITs will be held on 17 May 2026. The exam will take place in computer-based mode across centres in different cities in India.
This year’s exam will run for a total of six hours, divided into two compulsory papers. Paper 1 is scheduled from 9 am to 12 pm, and Paper 2 will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates must appear for both papers to be considered for the merit list.
IIT Roorkee will soon issue the detailed timetable, exam city list, and information brochure on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. The exam will be available in English and Hindi.
Who Can Apply for JEE Advanced 2026?
Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from the JEE Main 2026 merit list will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already released the dates for JEE Main 2026:
With two sessions, students will have more than one chance to improve their JEE Main scores before the final merit list is prepared.
Exam Mode and Languages
JEE Advanced 2026 will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. Centres will be set up in different parts of the country. The question paper will be available in English and Hindi.
