Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Monday, extended his heartfelt wishes to students appearing for the High School and Intermediate board examinations in the state. In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), CM Yogi encouraged students to approach the exams with confidence, patience, and their full potential, while treating the examinations as a natural part of their daily routine.

The UP Board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 commenced on February 22 and will continue until March 12, 2025. Over 54.5 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams this year, making it one of the largest board examinations in the country. The state government has implemented stringent measures to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the exams, including the newly enforced Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

In his message, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm and confident demeanor during the exams. He wrote, "Hearty congratulations to all the students appearing in the UP Board 10th and 12th class exams! All of you should participate in this festival of examination with full confidence, patience, and full potential. Try your best to treat the exam as a natural part of your daily routine. May the blessings of Maa Saraswati be upon all of you. May you all be successful; many good wishes for this!"

The Chief Minister's words aimed to alleviate the stress and anxiety often associated with board exams, urging students to view them as a regular and manageable part of their academic journey. His message resonated with students and parents alike, offering encouragement and moral support during this crucial period.

To ensure the integrity of the examination process, the Uttar Pradesh government has established a state-level control room in Lucknow. This control room is connected to all 8,140 examination centers across the state, enabling real-time monitoring of the exam proceedings. Deputy Director and Control Room Incharge, Ram Shankar, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, "This control room is connected to all the 8,140 exam centers in the state and their control rooms. We can monitor any exam center in the state from here. This will maintain the fair conduct of exams."

In addition to the control room, the state has deployed extensive security measures to prevent malpractices and ensure a cheating-free environment. UP Minister Gulab Devi, who inspected the arrangements at Jubilee Girls Inter College in Lucknow, reiterated the government’s commitment to conducting fair and transparent exams. She stated, "Just like the previous years, we will ensure cheating-free (board) exams. This time, the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 has been passed - under this, there is a provision of Rs 1 crore fine and life imprisonment for 'cheating mafias'."

The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, introduced this year, imposes severe penalties on individuals or groups involved in malpractices during examinations. The Act includes provisions for a fine of up to Rs 1 crore and life imprisonment for those found guilty of facilitating cheating or engaging in unfair practices. This stringent legislation aims to deter malpractices and uphold the credibility of the examination process.

Minister Gulab Devi also interacted with students at examination centers, offering them words of encouragement. She acknowledged the nervousness often experienced by students during board exams and motivated them to perform to the best of their abilities. "I encouraged the students who are appearing for the exam, as they are usually a little nervous, and motivated them to perform better in the exam. We have set up a control room that monitors the examination centers set up in every college and school in the district...we have made proper arrangements," she said.
