UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2025 Declared


The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2025 and Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025. The exams were held on May 25, 2025, and the roll numbers of qualified candidates are now available on the official website upsc.gov.in.

Candidates who have cleared the Civil Services (Prelims) are eligible to appear for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025, while those shortlisted for the Indian Forest Service will proceed to the IFS (Main) Examination, 2025.

The list of successful candidates has been published on the Commission’s website, upsc.gov.in, and marks a crucial step forward for those aiming to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other central civil services.

Steps to Check UPSC Prelims Result 2025

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to https://upsc.gov.in
  2. Click on the Result Link: On the homepage, look for the link titled “Written Result - Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2025” or "Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination 2025" under the “What’s New” or “Examinations” section.
  3. Open the PDF File: The result is available in PDF format containing roll numbers of candidates who have qualified for the Mains examination.
  4. Search Your Roll Number: Use Ctrl+F (Cmd+F on Mac) to quickly find your Roll Number in the list.
  5. Save or Print: Download and save the PDF for future reference. You may also take a printout if needed.

Window for Mains Registration Opens June 16

All qualified candidates are required to complete further formalities for the Mains examination, which include:

  • Payment of ₹200 fee (except for female, SC/ST, and PwBD candidates who are exempted),
  • Submission or updation of scribe and assistive device details for candidates who require such support,
  • Submission of Gazette Notification in cases where candidates have changed their name post-matriculation or if there is a name mismatch in their application.

This submission window will be active from June 16 to June 25, 2025, on the official UPSC website. The candidature at this stage remains provisional until the verification of required documents and fee payment.

Results of Four Candidates Withheld

For the Civil Services (Prelims), the results of four candidates (Roll Numbers: 7004555, 6305469, 6413314, and 6610122) have been withheld pending the outcome of ongoing court cases.

The marks, cut-off marks, and final answer keys for both Civil Services and Indian Forest Service preliminary examinations will be published only after the entire examination cycle concludes, including interviews and final results.
