UP Police SI Recruitment 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has started the application process for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI), Platoon Commanders, and Female Police Personnel. A total of 4,543 vacancies have been announced for aspirants seeking a career in the state police force.

The online application process began on Tuesday, September 12, and eligible candidates can apply through the official website apply.upprpb.in. The last date to submit applications is September 11, 2025. This recruitment drive includes 4,242 vacancies for Sub-Inspectors, 135 for PAC Platoon Commanders, 60 for Special Security Force Platoon Commanders, and 106 for Female Platoon Commanders in units based in Banda, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any discipline to be eligible. Those who are currently appearing for their final exams or awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit and Special Relaxation

The age limit for General and EWS category candidates is 21 to 31 years, while SC, ST, and OBC candidates can apply between 21 and 36 years. In a major relief to aspirants, the UPPBPB has announced a one-time 3-year age relaxation for all categories due to the lack of recruitment in recent years and delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This relaxation is expected to benefit nearly 5 lakh candidates who were previously ineligible due to age restrictions.

Physical Standards and Selection Process

Male candidates must meet a minimum height requirement of 168 cm (160 cm for ST category), with a chest measurement of 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded). Female candidates should have a minimum height of 152 cm (147 cm for ST) and weigh at least 40 kg.

The selection process consists of four stages: a written examination, document verification, physical measurement test (PST), and physical efficiency test (PET). The written exam will be OMR-based, carrying 400 marks with questions on General Hindi, Law/Constitution, Numerical & Mental Ability, and Logical Reasoning. Candidates must secure at least 35% in each section and an overall 50% to qualify.

One-Time Registration (OTR) and Application Process

Before applying, candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the official UPPBPB website (uppbpb.gov.in). This free registration process ensures that candidates do not need to re-enter personal details for future recruitments. Over 3.5 lakh candidates have already registered under this system.

The board has also issued a strict warning against the use of performance-enhancing drugs during PET. Candidates found using such substances will face disqualification and legal action.
