UP NEET UG 2025

The Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DGME) has released a revised merit list for NEET UG state counselling, following a Delhi High Court order that led to an increase in marks for one candidate. This adjustment has caused shifts in the ranks of several other aspirants in the UP NEET UG state merit list.

The candidate, Satyanishtha, saw her marks increase from 529 to 540 after being awarded 11 grace marks due to time loss during the exam. As a result, her state rank improved from 2,507 to 1,598, while her All India rank rose from 24,986 to 17,595.5. However, this upward adjustment for one candidate led to a downward shift in ranks for others in the merit list.

The revised list has delayed the announcement of the UP NEET UG first-round results, which were initially expected on August 6. The updated rankings have necessitated a reassessment before seat allotments can proceed.

Top Performers Remain Unchanged

The top ranks in the All India merit list remain unaffected:

  • Mahesh Kumar retains the first position with 686 marks.
  • Praneel Munish holds the second spot with 634 marks (AIR 186).
  • Yash Chaudhary follows in third place with 631 marks (AIR 227).

UP NEET UG Counselling Details

A total of 30,699 candidates have been included in the revised UP NEET merit list. The counseling process will cover:

  • MBBS Seats: 11,043 (Government: 4,443 | Private: 6,600)
  • BDS Seats: 2,201 (Government: 51 | Private: 2,150)

Candidates opting for both government and private medical/dental seats must submit a security deposit of Rs. 2 lakhs, which will not be adjusted against tuition fees. Once deposited, candidates cannot modify their choices.

The revised merit list has been published on the official DGME website, and affected candidates are advised to check their updated ranks before proceeding with counseling. Further updates on seat allotment will be announced soon.
