NIRF Rankings 2025 were released by the Ministry of Education on September 4,2025. AIIMS Delhi leads in medical, while IIT Madras tops overall and engineering, and IISc Bengaluru is ranked the best university.

The Ministry of Education released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 rankings on 4 September. The rankings were announced across different categories including overall, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, and medical.

In the medical category, AIIMS Delhi continues to retain its lead. Other institutes such as PGIMER Chandigarh, CMC Vellore, JIPMER Puducherry, and SGPGIMS Lucknow also feature among the best medical colleges this year.

  • Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR): Considers faculty qualifications, student-teacher ratio, and resources.
  • Research and Professional Practice (RP): Evaluates research output and quality.
  • Graduation Outcomes (GO): Looks at exam results, placements, and higher studies success.
  • Outreach and Inclusivity (OI): Focuses on inclusivity and student diversity.
  • Perception (PR): Reflects the reputation of the institution among peers and employers.
