The Staff Selection Commission is scheduled to close down the online application process for the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2025 today, July 21. The recruitment offers a total of 1340 tentative vacancies for Junior Engineers in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines within various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India.

The SSC JE 2025 Notification PDF, released on June 30, 2025, outlined the crucial details for candidates seeking to join the prestigious Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts, which fall under Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission, offering a salary range of Rs 35,400-112,400/-.

While the current 1340 vacancies are slightly fewer than in previous recruitment cycles, the opportunity remains highly competitive and sought-after among engineering graduates and diploma holders.

Selection Process and Exam Structure:

The SSC JE selection process is a multi-stage affair, designed to assess candidates' technical knowledge and general aptitude. It comprises:

Paper-I (Computer-Based Test): This 200-mark paper includes sections on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical, as per the candidate's chosen stream). A negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each incorrect answer.

Paper-II (Computer-Based Test): Carrying 300 marks, Paper-II is a more in-depth assessment of the candidate's specific engineering discipline. This paper also features negative marking, with 1 mark deducted for every wrong answer.

Document Verification: Successful candidates from both papers will proceed to the document verification stage.
