SSC CHSL exam application out for over 3,000 vacancies for 12th pass

The last date and time for receipt of online applications is May 7, 2024 (11 PM).

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is accepting online applications for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (CHSL) Examination, 2024.

SSC will hold competitive examinations for recruitment to the Group C posts such as Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant and Data Entry Operators for various ministries/ departments/ offices of the Government of India and various constitutional bodies/ statutory bodies/ tribunals.

The last date and time for receipt of online applications is May 7, 2024 (11 pm).

The schedule of Tier-I (Computer Based Examination) is in June-July, 2024. Meanwhile, schedule of Tier-II (Computer Based Examination) will be notified later.

There are approximately 3,712 vacancies. However, a firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, if any, along with post-wise & category-wise vacancies will be made available on the website of the Commission (sc.gov.in> Candidate’s Corner> Tentative Vacancy).

Candidates may note that state-wise/zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) will have a pay level-2 (Rs 19,900-63,200).

Data Entry Operator (DEO) will have a pay level-4 (Rs 25,500-81,100) and level-5 (Rs 29,200-92,300). Data Entry Operator ‘Grade A’ will have a pay level-4 (Rs 25,500-81,100).

The crucial date for age reckoning is fixed as August 1, 2024. Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years i.e. Candidates born not before August 2, 1997 and not later than August 1, 2006 are eligible to apply. However, there are permissible relaxation in upper age limit for different categories.
