The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has cancelled the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Stage 2 for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment examination scheduled for March 19, 2025. Both Shift 1 and Shift 2 exams were affected due to technical issues, prompting the board to reschedule the test. The new dates for the examination will be announced shortly, and candidates are advised to stay updated through the official RRB website.
The decision to cancel the exam came after candidates faced difficulties during the first shift, where the question papers failed to load on the server despite candidates being seated at their systems for an extended period. Following the technical glitch, the RRB issued an official notice stating, "Due to technical problems, the examination scheduled on 19.03.2025 (Shift-1 and 2) is being rescheduled for those centers where the examination could not be conducted. The new exam date will be released soon."
The RRB ALP CBT-2 exam, which is part of the recruitment process for 18,799 Assistant Loco Pilot posts, was initially planned to be conducted from March 19 to March 20, 2025, across various examination centers nationwide. Admit cards for the exam had already been released, and candidates were prepared to appear for the test.
This recruitment drive has seen significant interest, with the first stage of the examination, CBT-1, being held from November 25 to November 29, 2024. The results for CBT-1 were declared on January 26, 2025, and qualified candidates were set to appear for the second stage, CBT-2, in March.
The cancellation has caused disappointment among aspirants, many of whom had traveled long distances to reach their respective exam centers. However, the RRB has assured candidates that the rescheduled exam will be conducted smoothly, and further updates will be communicated promptly.
