RIMC 2026 Notification Out: Apply by March 31, Exam on June 1

The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, has opened applications for admission to Class VIII for the January 2026 term. Boys and girls can apply for the entrance examination, scheduled for 1 June 2025 (Sunday), to be conducted at specified centres across states.

• Age: Applicants must be between 11½ and 13 years old as of 1 January 2026. Candidates should be born between 2 January 2013 and 1 July 2014.
• Education: Candidates must either be studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from a recognised school by the time of admission.

The selection process includes a written examination, viva-voce, and a medical examination.

• Mathematics: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
• General Knowledge: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
• English: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Viva-Voce: Candidates who qualify for the written exam will be notified by their respective state governments about the date and venue. The viva-voce will assess intelligence, personality, and communication skills.

Medical Examination: Successful candidates from the viva-voce will undergo a medical examination at designated military hospitals. Only medically fit candidates will be considered for admission.

• Visit the RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in to make the payment. The form and booklet of old question papers will be sent via speed post.

Send a written request along with a demand draft in favour of “The Commandant RIMC Fund” payable at HDFC Bank, Ballupur Chowk, Dehradun (Bank Code: 1399). Include the following:

• Rs. 600 for General candidates and ₹555 for SC/ST candidates.
• Typed or clearly written address with a pin code and contact number.

• Rashtriya Indian Military College, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Pin: 248003.
• Assistant Secretary (Exams), APPSC, New Heads of the Department’s Building, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, Pin: 520010.

• Birth certificate (issued by the Municipal Corporation/Gram Panchayat).
• Domicile certificate.
• SC/ST certificate (if applicable).
• A certificate from the current school’s principal confirming the candidate’s date of birth and class.
• Photocopy of the candidate’s Aadhaar card.
• Two passport-sized photographs.

The completed application form must reach Assistant Secretary (Exams), APPSC, Vijayawada by 31 March 2025. Applications sent directly to RIMC, Dehradun, will not be accepted.
