The Maharashtra School Education Department has initiated the application process for the Right to Education (RTE) admissions for the academic year 2025-26. As per the RTE Act, 25% of seats in private schools across the state are reserved for children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups. Parents who wish to apply for these reserved seats can do so online through the official Maharashtra student portal at student.maharashtra.gov.in. The application period is open from January 14th to January 27th, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for RTE admissions, children must come from families with an annual household income of less than Rs. 1 lakh. Applicants are also allowed to select up to 10 preferred schools during the application process. Additionally, students who have already been admitted under the RTE quota in previous years are not eligible to apply again.
It is important that parents provide accurate and complete information during the application. This includes the child’s date of birth, the family’s income details, and all necessary documents. Applicants must ensure that all required fields are filled correctly to avoid any issues with their application.
How to Apply for Maharashtra RTE Admissions 2025
The deadline for submitting applications is January 27, 2025, so parents are advised to apply well in advance to avoid last-minute rushes.
