The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced a revised date for the Kannada language test for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates appearing for KCET 2025. Initially set for April 18, 2025, the exam will now be conducted on April 15, 2025.
The decision to change the exam date was made following requests from candidates, as April 18 coincides with Good Friday. KEA, acting on government directions, has decided to prepone the exam to avoid any inconvenience to candidates observing the religious occasion.
Revised Exam Schedule
According to the updated schedule, the Kannada language test will take place on April 15, 2025 (Tuesday), from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The exam centres will be located in four districts: Bengaluru, Belagavi, Vijayapura, and Mangaluru.
An official notification released by KEA said, "The Kannada Language Test was initially scheduled for 18-04-2025 for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates. Some candidates requested a change as Good Friday falls on the same date. As per government directions, the exam will now be conducted on 15-04-2025."
No Change for Other KCET 2025 Exams
Apart from the Kannada language test, there are no changes to the overall KCET 2025 exam schedule. The main KCET 2025 exams for all other candidates will be conducted as planned on April 16 and 17, 2025.
Additionally, KEA has clarified that the KCET 2025 question paper will have four answer options per question. This differs from other KEA competitive exams, which typically have five options per question.
KCET 2025 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering, medical, and other professional courses in Karnataka. The exam serves as a gateway for students seeking admission to various institutions for the academic year 2025-26.
