JoSAA has released the Round 1 seat allotment result for 2025 on josaa.nic.in. Candidates must pay the acceptance fee and upload documents by 18 June to confirm their seat.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the Round 1 seat allotment result for JoSAA Counselling 2025. Candidates who applied for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other participating technical institutions can now check their allotment status on the official website josaa.nic.in.

This allotment has been done based on the candidates’ ranks in JEE Main or JEE Advanced, their category, and the choices filled during registration. Alongside the seat allotment result, JoSAA has also released the opening and closing ranks for each course and institute.

How to Check JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result

Candidates can follow the steps given below to view their allotment:

  1. Go to the official website — josaa.nic.in
  2. Click on the “View Seat Allotment Result – Round 1” link
  3. Login using your JEE Main application number and password
  4. Your allotted institute, course, and category will be displayed on the screen
  5. Download and print the seat allotment letter for future use

What to Do After Round 1 Allotment

Candidates who have been allotted a seat must complete the following steps to secure their admission:

  • Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee and Upload Documents: From June 14 to June 18, 2025 (till 5 PM)
  • Respond to Queries (if any) during Document Verification: By June 19, 2025 (till 5 PM)

Available Options for Candidates

After viewing the seat allotment, candidates can choose one of the following options:

  • Freeze: Accept the seat and opt out of further rounds
  • Float: Accept the seat but continue to be considered for higher preference choices in other institutes
  • Slide: Accept the seat and opt for a switch to a higher-preference course in the same institute

It is important to complete all actions within the deadlines to retain the allotted seat.

What If You are Not Satisfied With the Allotment?

If a candidate is not satisfied with their current allotment, they can choose the “Float” or “Slide” option and wait for the upcoming rounds. JoSAA will hold a total of six rounds of seat allocation. The Round 2 seat allotment result will be released on June 21, 2025.
