The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has commenced the online application process for the UP Polytechnic entrance exam 2026 today, January 15, 2026. Aspirants aiming for seats in government, aided, and private polytechnic institutes across the state can now submit their forms on the official website, jeecup.admissions.nic.in.

This examination serves as the single-window entrance for over 100 diploma courses under groups A to K and L, making today’s start a critical date for thousands of students.

JEECUP 2026: Complete Official Schedule

Prospective candidates must note the following key dates released by the council for the academic session 2026-27:

  • Commencement of Online Application: January 15, 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: April 30, 2026
  • Admit Card Availability: First week of May 2026 (Tentative)
  • JEECUP 2026 Exam Dates (CBT Mode): May 15 to May 22, 2026
  • Result Declaration: May 30, 2026

Eligibility Criteria & Application Fees

Educational Qualification: The basic eligibility requires candidates to have passed the Class 10 examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 35% marks. The age limit mandates that the applicant must be at least 14 years old as of July 1, 2026. Course-specific criteria may apply for different groups.

Application Fees:

  • General / OBC Category: Rs 300 (plus applicable bank transaction charges)
  • SC / ST Category: Rs 200 (plus applicable bank transaction charges)

Steps to apply for JEECUP 2026

Follow this clear process to ensure a smooth application:

Step 1. Go to the official website at jeecup.admissions.nic.in.

Step 2. On the homepage, find and click the link titled 'Online Registration for JEECUP 2026' under the Candidate Activity Board.

Step 3. Provide essential personal details like candidate’s name, parent’s name, and date of birth to generate login credentials.

Step 4. Log in and carefully complete all academic details, course preferences, and select your chosen exam centers.

Step 5. Upload scanned, clear copies of a recent passport-sized color photograph (with name and date mentioned on it) and your signature as per specified dimensions and format.

Step 6. Proceed to pay the non-refundable application fee using the integrated online payment gateway (net banking, credit/debit card, UPI).

Step 7. Review all entered details thoroughly, submit the form, and download/print the final confirmation page for all future references.

Exam Pattern & Key Change: No Negative Marking

The JEECUP 2026 entrance will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) comprising 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks.

In a significant update for this session, the examination will have NO NEGATIVE MARKING. This change allows candidates to attempt all questions with strategic confidence. The question paper will be bilingually available in Hindi and English.
