JEE Main 2025 Question Paper and Answer Key - April 2 Shift 1 (Memory-Based)

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 2 began on April 2, with Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The first shift took place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, and the second shift was scheduled from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The Shift 1 paper included a mix of conceptual and numerical questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The overall difficulty level was moderate, while Chemistry was found to be the easiest, Physics was tricky, and Mathematics was moderately challenging.

Physics Analysis: The Physics section was considered tricky by many candidates. Questions were mainly from Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, and Optics. Some numerical problems were time-consuming, requiring complex calculations, but formula-based questions made certain parts manageable.

Chemistry Analysis: The Chemistry section was rated as the easiest among the three subjects. Questions were evenly distributed among Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry. Organic Chemistry included reaction mechanisms, while Inorganic Chemistry focused on periodic trends and coordination compounds. Some Physical Chemistry numerical problems required precise calculations, but overall, the section was straightforward.

Mathematics Analysis: Mathematics was of moderate difficulty. Questions covered Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Algebra. A few questions from Vectors and 3D Geometry were included but were not overly complex. Certain problems involved lengthy calculations, making time management crucial for candidates.

The JEE Main 2025 April session will continue on April 3, 4, 7, and 8 for BTech and BE papers. The BArch and BPlanning papers (Paper 2A and Paper 2B) will be conducted on April 9, 2025.
