The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the examination schedule for the 2026 board exams, with a key focus on Class 9 and Class 11. In a significant update for students across the state, the registration process for Class 11 has commenced today, December 18, 2024.

Prospective candidates for the JAC Intermediate (Class 11) Examination 2026 must note the deadlines. The standard registration window is open from December 18, 2024, to January 2, 2026. Students missing this deadline can avail a late fee submission period from January 3 to January 9, 2026.

The council has confirmed that the registration process for the JAC Class 9 Matric (Secondary) Examination 2026 will begin imminently, within the next one to two days. Officials urge students to stay in close contact with their respective schools for precise application release dates.

The JAC Class 9 and 11 board examinations are slated for the last week of February 2026. These tests will follow immediately after the conclusion of the Matric (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) annual board exams, which end on February 17 and February 23, 2026, respectively.

In a streamlined approach, Class 9 exams will be conducted at Matric examination centers, while Class 11 exams will be held at Intermediate examination centers. Both examinations will be conducted using OMR sheets, a method chosen for efficiency and accuracy in evaluation.

The scale of these examinations is substantial. Preliminary estimates suggest approximately 5lakh students will appear for the Class 9 exam, with over 3 lakh candidates expected for the Class 11 examination. These exams serve as a stepping stones, as registered students will become eligible for the 2027 Matric (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations.

Looking further ahead, the JAC has also provided preliminary information for Class 8. The JAC Class 8 Board Examination 2026 is tentatively scheduled for the second week of March 2026. Considering the Holi festival in the first week of March, the council has planned the exams to take place after the celebrations, ensuring minimal disruption for students and families.

Following JAC directives, schools across Jharkhand have begun the process of filling out registration and application forms for the 2026 exams for Classes 8, 9, and 11. To facilitate a smooth and error-free process, the council has uploaded a combined registration-cum-examination application form on its official portal.

This digital initiative aims to help schools collect filled forms from students promptly and cross-verify them with institutional data. JAC has instructed all affiliated schools to ensure application forms are distributed to students without delay and to prepare accurate lists of examination participants.

Students and parents are advised to rely only on official communications from the Jharkhand Academic Council or their school authorities for all updates regarding form submission, fee payment, and exam schedules. Avoiding last-minute submissions is critical, especially with the tight timeline between the regular and late fee periods.

With registration now open, students of Classes 9 and 11 in Jharkhand are encouraged to begin the process promptly to secure their eligibility for the pivotal board examinations in February 2026.
