The Indian Navy has opened the online application process for Agniveer sailor recruitment for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Eligible candidates can submit applications through the official portal between 14 March 2026 and 06 April 2026. The recruitment drive covers Agniveer SSR, Agniveer MR, and SSR (Medical) sailor positions under the Agniveer scheme.

The selection process will begin through the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026. Candidates who qualify will move through several stages including a physical fitness assessment and written examination. Selected candidates will later undergo training at INS Chilka in Odisha before joining service.

Agniveer SSR, MR Recruitment Structure and Selection Process

The recruitment drive is part of the Agniveer scheme introduced for sailor positions. Applications for Agniveer SSR and Agniveer MR posts are open to both male and female candidates. However, recruitment for SSR (Medical) sailor posts is restricted to unmarried male candidates.

Eligibility and Age Criteria for Agniveer Sailor Posts

Eligibility requirements vary depending on the post and recruitment batch. Candidates must satisfy both educational qualifications and age limits specified in the notification.

Examination Pattern and Physical Fitness Standards

A negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for each incorrect answer. Candidates must also pass the Physical Fitness Test to proceed further in the selection process.

The physical assessment includes a 1.6 kilometre run along with squats, push-ups and sit-ups. Separate fitness standards apply for male and female candidates. The application fee for all categories is Rs 550 and must be paid online during the registration process.
