The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the postponement of the remaining Chartered Accountants (CA) Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations scheduled between May 9 and May 14, 2025. This decision comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Indian Armed Forces' precision strikes under Operation Sindoor.
In its official statement released today, ICAI said: “In partial modification of the Institute’s Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/2025 dated 13th January 2025, it is announced for general information that in view of the tense and security situation in the country, the remaining papers of Chartered Accountants Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course Examinations stand postponed.”
The move affects the CA Final Group II exams that were to be held on May 8, 10, and 13, and the Intermediate Group II exams scheduled for May 9, 11, and 14. Additionally, the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT), originally slated during this period, also stands deferred. Each of these papers was scheduled to be four hours in duration.
However, the ICAI clarified that the CA Foundation course exams will proceed as planned. The remaining Final course exams are now expected to resume on May 15, with further papers scheduled on May 17, 19, and 21.
The students are advised keep checking the official website www.icai.org to check revised dates and further instructions.
The ICAI’s May 2025 exams are being conducted not only in India but also across nine international centres including Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh, and Thimphu.
