IIT Guwahati has released the full GATE 2026 exam schedule. The exam will be held on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026. Candidates can check session-wise details on the official website.

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has released the complete examination schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026. The exam will be held on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026 in computer-based mode. The schedule lists the dates, session timings, and paper-wise slots for all 30 papers.

GATE 2026 is conducted on behalf of the National Coordination Board–GATE under the Ministry of Education. Registration for the exam began on 28 August 2025. Candidates can check their paper code, exam date, and allotted session through the official timetable published on the website.

Exam Dates and Timings

The exam will take place over four days, with two sessions each day:

  • Forenoon Session: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon Session: 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Admit Card and Exam Centre Information

The admit cards for GATE 2026 will be issued on the official website. Candidates must download the document and check their personal details, paper code, exam date, session, and examination centre.

The exam centre address will be printed on the admit card. Candidates are required to reach the venue at least one hour before the exam begins. Entry will be allowed only with a valid admit card and a government issued photo ID.

GATE 2026 will be held entirely in a computer-based format. Candidates will be able to use only the virtual calculator available on the exam screen. Mobile phones, personal calculators, or any other electronic devices will not be permitted inside the exam hall.

All candidates must follow the security procedures and instructions issued by the authorities. Any violation may result in cancellation of candidature.
